Today in Guatemala

September means Fair for all Guatemalans, this year we are celebrating our 190th. anniversary of Independence. It is celebrated with school parades, concerts, election of queens, sports, rides, contests of school bands, rock concerts, marimba concerts, pyrotechnic games, folkloric events, etc. There is a fairground located outside of town where you can find restaurants, sales of typical food, handicrafts, all kinds of beverages, a show-sales room of local handicrafts and industrial products, the famous Play Land Park with different and challenging mechanic games, chicago wheels, barbecued steaks restaurants without lacking the famous guatemalan meals everywhere. In the fairground you can buy from peanuts until a modern car.

The school was absolutely amazing. Along with learning a lot of Spanish, I also learned a different culture and way of living. The school was different than all the others. The staff took interest in your life. They cared about what you wanted and what was best for you.  Nora and Rolando  always had and activity for us. They take the best care of each student in the school. The activities were a ton of fun. They took us to the hot springs, the lake, we climbed Santa Maria volcano, and much more. I met and made friends with people all around the world. I loved the school and I would come back in a heart beat. J. A. McLean. U.S.A.
